L’engagement de la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung aux côtés des acteurs progressistes Tunisiens commence dès les années 1960, par la construction de liens et la coopération avec des militants syndicaux proches de nos valeurs.
Depuis février 1988, la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung a un bureau permanent en Tunisie et s’y engage pour le dialogue, la démocratie et le développement.
Avec la révolution de 2011, la Tunisie s’est engagée sur le chemin de l’adhésion aux valeurs de la démocratie, de la justice sociale et du respect des droits humains. Depuis cet événement historique pour le pays et la région, la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung s’est investie de manière conséquente et durable pour soutenir la démocratie et la justice sociale. Le bureau Tunisien est aujourd’hui le plus important bureau à l’étranger de la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
La FES soutient l’inclusion des régions tunisiennes dans le dialogue et organise, avec ses partenaires, des débats, séminaires, conférences, formations et consultations au niveau national et international. Guidée par ses valeurs fondamentales, la fondation contribue au développement socialement juste, participatif et démocratique du pays. La fondation encourage également le renforcement des relations euro-méditerranéennes et l'intégration régionale au Maghreb.
En plus de la coopération avec le mouvement syndical et social, notre fondation est engagée aux côtés des acteurs progressistes de la société civile en Tunisie. Nous souhaitons à travers notre coopération favoriser la participation à la vie publique des femmes et des jeunes. La fondation Ebert encourage l’action citoyenne et l’existence d’un débat public pluraliste et pacifique. Nous sommes particulièrement engagés en faveurs des droits humains universels et de l’égalité de genre. L’objectif principal est l’enracinement des valeurs de la démocratie dans la vie politique et dans la société et la consolidation de la justice sociale.
